A NC (Normally Closed) underfloor heating actuator is a device used to control the flow of hot water in an underfloor heating system. This type of actuator is called "NC" because in its rest state, that is, when it is not activated, it is closed, that is, it allows the flow of water to pass.

The operation of an NC actuator for underfloor heating is as follows:

1. Idle state (not activated): Normally, the NC actuator is closed, which means that its circuit is closed and the flow of hot water is allowed to flow through the underfloor heating system.

2. Activation: When the temperature control system detects that the floor temperature needs to be lower, it sends a signal to the actuator to open. The NC actuator responds to this signal by switching to the open state.

3. Activated (open) state: When the NC actuator is activated, it opens and allows fluid (usually hot water from a central heating system) to be diverted from the underfloor heating circuit. This reduces or stops the flow of hot water to the floor, resulting in a lower floor temperature and therefore a reduction in room temperature.

By using such NC actuators, the underfloor heating system can be precisely controlled to maintain a comfortable temperature in the room. When the temperature reaches the desired level, the actuator closes again, allowing the water flow to return to the underfloor heating circuit and maintain the constant temperature.
